Board Game Arena

There's a player that gets mad about premies paying to win. He constantly makes new accounts after being banned or flagged and ALWAYS finds my games to join. For a little while I could tell which usernames are his, but now he's changing it up. He always joins, gets 2 rolls, complains and then stops playing. he actually even won one game and complained about how I should ask for a refund since I didn't get the win that I paid for.

That's gotta be harassment of some kind right? I understand that everyone and anyone can keep making accounts but is there some way to do something about it officially/legally? He told me he would raped me and my daughter one of those times and now he won't leave me alone.

Those threats of criminal violence go beyond mere trolling. I'm sorry, angry, and disgusted that you've been subjected to that by a coward. I can't say what obligations under French law those threats may trigger for BGA.

This behavior is obviously egregious and unacceptable. Unfortunately there is not much you can do personally except report these incidents, or possibly change your username to be harder to find. I know from discussions of previous incidents that BGA does try to ban people who keep making multiple accounts either for harassment or cheating, but these people are deranged and will keep trying to circumvent BGA's actions. Often they go away eventually, but we can't be sure if that's because the offender gave up or if BGA found a way to permanently ban them.

I am shocked and sorry for this happening to you.

I just hope BGA finds a way to block theese people permanently!

If their IP address is relatively static, BGA could use that to blacklist, for as long as it remains static, and assuming the IP is logged with account creation. If it is logged, they should be able to compare a few of the accounts to see if the IPs are the same or not.

I cannot speak for BGA however and don't know how the system is setup. Just another user hoping you can get some relief from the harassment.

When faced with such harassment, not everyone will think about taking a screenshot. But it shouldn't be necessary anyway, because as far as I know BGA can read the chats in cases like this, or can't they?

However, no need for immediate screenshots, because the in game chat can be reached later by the players like this:
Go to the game in question, using the URL boardgamearena.com/table?table=XXXX. On the left side, you find a button "Chat". If you click on it, you can open the in game chat again and by loading more, you can reconstruct the whole chat.

We can indeed but it might still prove useful...
