Getting kicked from games for running out of time while waiting for other players

Hi,

I’m having an issue that I don’t really understand.
Several times, I’ve been kicked from games for running out of time, even though I play my games several times a day, in the order they are presented to me by BGA.

In fact, I often reach a point where I have no games available to play at all because I’m waiting for the other players to make their moves.

So how is it possible for me to run out of time and get kicked from a game ?

This seems to happen mostly in tournament games.
Am I missing something about how the time limit works in tournaments, or about the order in which BGA presents games that require my attention ?

Thanks for your help !

Tournaments have fixed time limits, you don't get extra time per turn as in non-tournament games.

In https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=905713223 the time limit was 24 hours. If it was your turn right after you closed for the night, and you slept for 8 hours, you just lost 8 hours of your timer. After 3 nights like that, you're out of time, regardless of what you do in between, because you don't get extra time. Honestly, I think it's dangerous to sign for such a tournament.
