Become The Gatekeeper dilemma / suggestion

Hi all — in a 3p game of TI4 I've been playing, I drew the secret objective "Become the Gatekeeper," which requires a player to have ships in both a system with an alpha wormhole and a beta wormhole. But the map has no beta wormholes, making this objective impossible to achieve. In real life, I'm sure the table would allow the person to ditch the card and draw again. On the flip side, I'm sure many players would also just shrug and say that's the game. Should one of the setup modes be that the objective is not available in maps without both types of wormholes? Thanks in advance for considering this.

I've asked the publisher and it's just luck of the draw. As in real life, some objectives may not be feasible, even if they're theoretically possible.

One thing that may be doable is to change that 3-player map to have a beta wormhole. I imagine the publisher would approve such a layout change, and then (in theory) the secret objective would become possible.

Which map layout was it? I will also note that playing by the map-building rules in real life, you could also end up in a situation with no beta wormholes, depending on the tiles players drew.

We built the 3P map on BGA and no one had apparently had any Beta tiles. I totally agree that the same thing could happen IRL, but the difference is that IRL i feel like my group would just allowed someone to draw again. That's why i suggested it only be a setting in game setup because some people may feel that the spirit of the game is that sometimes cards work for you and sometimes they work against you.
