I would like to know who is the first player before selecting the destination tickets to plan a bit better since the houston to new orelans and saint louis to dashville are quite decent roads to know if you could build to them or not when game starts

There's a hosting option for that on BGA already, though it doesn't make much of a difference. If someone is grabbing small colorless routes so early that's usually an indication that they're easy to beat. It's pretty unlikely to run into someone who wants to take the same small route as you that who will be grabbing in on turn 1 that will be a struggle to beat. Not really worth affecting my ticket decisions, especially since oftentimes you're already ruling out a ticket or two for other reasons as it is.

Personally I prefer playing without it, but it's there for those that like it.

I know that but when we accept to play in a table, like requested by Terraforming Trevor, how to know when we have to select the destination cards, if we are the first or not ?

The point is why they give option turn is determined after selecting ticket as default settings. It should be before selecting tickets since some destination tickets have crucial chokepoint. Example all las vegas tickets (lv - new york, lv - miami), if you select that ticket and found out you’re the last player (4/5 players), it really sucks if both routes are blocked before you got your turn since las vegas only have 2 routes.
