A suggestion: possibility to give some of your time to another player

This suggestion is particularly for multiplayer tournaments. Everyone knows the issues that can happen in them, notably when a player gets expelled and the remaining players qualify according to account's age.

My suggestion wouldn't solve every possible case that exists, but it would help in many cases. What I'm thinking is that when an opponent in a multiplayer game has gone out of time, it should be possible, if you wish, to allocate some of your time to them. The time would be deducted from your clock, and added to theirs, in order to get them back in the black, and therefore make them immune from being kicked out.

Of course, it would require you to have time on your clock to spare. But it would be very helpful. If you have a lot of time to give, you could ensure that the game can go on longer without being under the threat of ending any time someone decides to expel.

Since tournament games have a fixed maximum duration, you reallocating your time wouldn't have any effect on how long it could possibly take. It would still be terminated at the same date, if the players can't finish it before.

I think under the current system, many multiplayer tournament games end prematurely because someone went out of time early, when actually only a few days have passed and there was still a lot of time to finish the game, which is a shame.

Also, with this suggestion, the players who have good intentions and want to finish the game normally would be able to team up to help the out of time player. If the players who are willing to kick out are outnumbered, it would be harder for them to reach a point where they are able to do so. The game would have the time to reach most of its maximum duration before they get the chance.

I don't see any drawback to this suggestion. Nothing would be forcing you to give out your time, it's a personal choice, and the maximum duration of the game would remain unchanged. All it would do is give your more control over a game's completion, if you have the necessary time on your clock.

There is already a similar suggestion not restricted to tournaments: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=96914

This suggestion makes less sense in a tournament setting, particularly in a tournament with the option to prevent skipping players that are out of time.

Interesting. Yes, if the organizer picked that setting, it would be useless to give out your time (even undesirable since the alternative ranking metric is remaining time). I'm thinking about the tournaments where kicking out is allowed.
