Suppose I am Muuat with a commodity limit of 4 and I play Trade strategy card. It gives me the option to "replenish and 6-commodity swap" with Hacan.
Do I get 6 and Hacan gets 4?
What does x-1 mean in this case - I get 5, and Hacan gets 4?

If possible (which it generally is), the secondary player should send all of their commodities.
This means an even swap is 6-for-6. The primary player just sends trade goods to balance it out.
X-1 means the primary player sends less than they receive, as a "cost" for the replenish and commodity exchange they are doing. If targeting Hacan, you might do X-2 (you send 4, Hacan sends 6). Of course, Hacan can refresh for free, so you will have to consider if such an offer is wise.

Hacan gets free refreshes, so why would they ever pay 2 TG to get washed? =S There are usually other players happy to do so in my experience =) Hacan can generally help with facilitating trades, especially R1 when most players arent neighbours =)
