voting is really annoying in this game

I really like this game. But from my point of view, when you play it in turn by turn, especially if you play it with more than two players, the game is slowed down way too much by all the votes you have to take.
For example, when a demon card activates, if there are three of these demons, the game might ask the players for each of these three demons where it will move exactly, so that's 3 votes, and for each of these votes you have to wait that every player has voted. Since often all players aren't online at the same time, it can take quite a long time, just for a few minor decisions with really low impacts.
I'm playing two games of Deliverance in turn by turn with 3 players and I really have the feeling that the progression of these two games is close to zero, mostly because of these votes.
Maybe one solution would be to give the option to vote for one "leader" who would take alone all (or some) of these decisions?
