Warning when discarding a card for an effect wouldn't work

I played a sea creature with a glide effect, and discarded a card with what appeared to be a sea creature icon to it. Nothing seemed to happen.I confirmed my turn and then eventually worked out that the icon hadn't counted because it was a requirement [technically correct iconography, but still potentially confusing]. This is an excellent implementation, but since it was highly unlikely that I would have intentionally discarded a card for zero effect,a warning when a player does that would be helpful [ Terraforming Mars gives you warnings in similar circumstances].

Why would you confirm your turn if you didn't get anything ? There is no real need for a warning if you can just undo.
If you really think this is something that would improve the game, feel free to create a suggestion here : https://boardgamearena.com/bugs

You did get something - you got the appeal for playing the animal-with-glide - so it's not as if nothing changed. It's easy to miss bonus effects, like extra appeal or reputation - you just assume the system will have taken care of it all for you.Which it did,TBF - it just cheerfully swallows your discard, without warning you you're not getting anythng for it.

I didn't even realize it was possible to discard an invalid card with the Glide effect.

For what it's worth,at a basic English language level [I don't know about other language editions] an icon is an icon.Ok,I get that nobody seems to care about that, but when I'm a bt tired, and short on concentration,I rely on what's written on the card, and don't feel like digging around in the rules glossary.
