Do the playing hours you see update based on your time zone or is it just set by the initial user?

IE if I on the US East Coast set playing hours 10 am to noon, does a player in the West Coast of US see 10 am to noon or 7 am to 9 am?

All times (outside the forum) are in your local device's timezone.

So the West Coast player sees 7 am to 9 am?

Well, I don't think you can set playing hours 10 to noon to start with, it's always a 12-hour window. But yes, players in different locations will see different times. That goes only for the selectable options, of course, if you write your own text in the "table description", that won't be translated or enforced.

What is "table description" and how do you enter text in it?

In the manual table creation in the lobby, below the settings (mode, speed, game options). They call it "presentation":

I don't think you'll ever see it outside the manual lobby. Which is one of the reasons why it's so useless: few people see it (and those who see it will likely ignore it).

Others have answered, so I will just point out that if you ever have doubts, there's a quick and easy test: change the timezone of your device. (Manually changing the clock won't work; you have to change the timezone setting.) Then restart your browser and come back to BGA. You will see the playing hours changed to your new timezone.

Note that the forums have their own timezone setting and timestamps will not change in the forums if you do this. But elsewhere on the site, they will.
