I am playing a game Turn-based. One of the player has an ELO of 185, and at the same time has the message "This is my first game, so my turn time is doubled. Thanks for helping me!"
How can he have a ELO of 185 if he has never played the game?

Thanks for your help

The message depends on when you start the game. In the past I've started a turn based game with friends, one of them has enjoyed it and plays a bunch of real time games and their ELO goes up but the "First time playing" message is still marked on that first game.

I'm not sure if this can also happen if you, say, start 5 of the same game at the same time.

When you started the game. They were a beginner at 0. But since then, they have played and finished quite a few games and raised his elo to 185. The "first time playing this game" does not go away once he went above 0. Has happened to me many times if the game takes awhile to finish.

Considering games take months sometimes, it would be funny if someone got to Master rank while they still had a game that says they are a beginner.
