Timeout in Friendly Mode - Re-Adding Player?

Hi all,

I am playing a friendly game with real-life friends.

Our intention was not to have any time limit for actions.

However, one of the players seems to have timed out and been kicked from the game.

Is there any way to re-add this player so we can continue the game with all players? Or will we just have to start a new game?

I don't understand how you have both a time limit and friendly mode enabled - it's supposed to be one or the other. Friendly mode isn't supposed to have time limits (unless this is some special thing for TI, but I couldn't spot how it could be done even with that game).

That said, one of your other players kicked out the player over time, so it would seem not everyone was on the same page as far as that goes (or perhaps they didn't realise, but I think it does explain what you're about to do when you choose to skip them). As far as I know, the kicked player can rejoin and you can play the game out, but the result will be ignored in terms of reporting (the kicked player is seen as a loser, and all other players tie for the win). Still, if it's Friendly, you may not care about that.

Are you sure it was in friendly mode?

Are you sure the player did not quit the game?

Posting the table link might help.

I'm guessing it's this game: https://en.boardgamearena.com/tableview?table=922606358

Not sure what's going on here...

That is weird. Yes, someone might have just quit the game, since that is allowed in friendly mode.

However, the turn timers are odd. I am guessing maybe the table was created in real-time friendly mode by accident, then switched to turn-based friendly mode in order to prevent table deletion after 4 hours of idle time? Maybe that causes timers to be added?

If so, it might need to be reported as a site bug.

No, they were skipped by another player. It's in the log.

I am guessing the change from real-time friendly to turn-based friendly added the timers, then.

I can't think of anything else that would cause it.

These are people who are friends outside of BGA. Why would one of them expel the other?

I've been reading Agatha Christie mysteries recently and this is beginning to feel like one.

"How could a timer exist in a non-timer game? And why would Mr. Smith expel his lifelong friend from a game?"
