Thoughts on the 4 player season

Hello,

I was wondering how people find this season so far, because on m'y side it's quite a pain.
- very difficult at some time to find the 4 players required ( sometimes +20min waiting for a Real Time game)
- long game time, with some game at +30min which is very inconvenient for WW
- on the beginning I was interested with how the game look at 4 people( less dependant on the first draw of cards and powerful cards, less dependant of the token rush) but as the games go, I feel it's actually far more based luck, especially when you have one player that is low level and just kill the game. You can have 2 players going against you and then they discover there is a 4th player that finish with 30+ pts than them....

What are your feeling so far ? Am I the only one to be pissed of by this ?

It's quite refreshing to play the game at 4p for a season. The wait time is not an issue for me as I mostly play turn based, so I can't comment on the first two points, but I disagree with the final point. There are some strategic differences:
- Simply being better than your opponent can work in 2p, but you can't hold back 3 opponents all by yourself (though be aware of which opponents are ahead and need to be denied of a key card when it comes up).
- Assess which strategies your opponents are pursuing so you can avoid getting caught up in the big group. Playing the same strategy as 2 others will lose you the game. The game has some good cards for mixed strategies, so don't be afraid to pivot after the first or second round (or keep your options open for longer).
- With more cards being used in total, more of the key cards will show up during the game. I've had enough 2 players game decided by which key cards show up at all. This is less of an issue with 4 (or even better, 5) players.
- Scores tend to be a bit lower due to the 7-card hards and more difficult supremacy bonus, so a couple cards with a good chunk of flat VP might be enough to win the game, even if you need to take them early.
There is still luck in the game, but it doesn't feel like it's worse than 2p to me.

You can tell that the game doesn't work at 4 players because most of the top players aren't participating this season.

Unfortunately the game is complete luck with 4 players drafting. The game shines at 2 player.
