Flamboyant convention?

When playing with flamboyants, there is a very niche situation you can end up in:
- It's endgame
- You just played a 5 and got "return from discard" flam
- There are no useful cards to return from the discard
- At least one playable card is unclued in someone's hand, and we are out of time to use a clue on it
Twice now I've been in this situation. Now, I think it would be quite clever to understand the choice of card returned to the deck in the same way a positional discard works, which is to say, given that there are no useful cards to return from the discard and that we have free choice, it would be useful to use the color+number, or just the number, of the trash card returned to the deck to indicate the position of a playable card.
A convention formalizing the idea of using this flamboyant in this way, with the obvious rule that the card returned to the deck must be true trash in order for it to be interpreted like this, covers this very niche situation and could even be expanded based on context. I'd be sitting on 2 extra 30s instead of 29s if that were the case
