Board Game Arena

How come BGA and Yucata don't share games? Yucata has a bunch more games implemented online, but a much worse user interface (I've been trying to get a game going for days over there and it just doesn't work). Why not join forces to offer more games with better interfaces?

Each web has their Interface, also you can play games in igGameCenter or Boardspace, but you know, not all designers give licences to all games.

Iggames is just abstract out of copyright board games. I never knew about Boardspace, although the only game I am really interested in on their site is Euphoria. This only brings me to once again say, BGA has a way better interface than Yucata or Boardspace, so why don't they see about teaming up, BGA's interface with their licenses. Everybody wins. The games are already logically implemented, so a lot of the work is already done for bringing them onto BGA or bringing BGA's interface onto them. If the creators were willing to license the games to Yucata or Boardspace, I don't see why they wouldn't want even more free publicity from BGA.

I said, each web has their owners and their rules.

igGameCenter has some games with licences like "Adaptoid", "Hippos and Crocks", "Arimaa", "Mark Steere games" and others...

BGA would have more than 40 new games, but we needs designers.

Nothing about this makes any sense at all, sorry. That BGA has a "way better interface" is nothing but your personal opinion, so I have to assume you don't understand that other people perhaps have different opinions than yours. There are games I think were implemented here better, and games I think were implemented at Yucata better. For those people who don't agree with you, how does "everyone" win?

Plus the two sites are totally, absolute, and in every way completely different from each other. First and foremost, this site was for a long time only live games, and added turn-based only a bit over a year ago. Whereas Yucata has been turn-based from the very start, and whether the admins here want to hear it or not, Yucata understands turn-based a million times better. But Yucata also does not do live at all (except by your choice to play while someone else is online at the same time), and the majority of the people there prefer turn-based. The philosophies are different.

Here's the thing. There's numerous board gaming sites out there, with some crossover of games, but each one does things differently and have different philosophies. I don't think they should team up, so that each person can decide which place they like the best, or if they want to play at several of them. Some people are very loyal to one site, and one thing most people at any site pretty much can't stand is when you go to site A and say "why can't you be like site B," while someone else goes to site B and says "why can't you be like site A"? Because they aren't.

The fact that all of us are different, rather than all being exactly like you, is exactly why it works better to keep separate sites. Mergers can sometimes be necessary, but mostly are yucky things.
