Bonjour !

Merci 8-)

There is a group, "Game Tutors", that is made of people willing to teach.

The problem is in finding when they are on. :(

The best action is to ask in the lobby if anyone is willing to teach a game.

Now, some suggestions for the games where someone is learning (in general). [These mostly come from my experiences in teaching games.]
  • Set time to be turn-based, 1 or 2 moves per day. This way, the game will eventually time out if someone leaves, but the teacher has plenty of time to teach.
  • Set ELO to OFF. Teachers are normally pretty good at the game, and have high ELO. In teaching games, they will sometimes make poor moves to illustrate why a particular option is poor. They also like the games, and want new opponents to play against. Crushing a new player is not a good way to get them to play again...
  • Be patient. People only type so fast.
  • Be patient. It's worth repeating that.
  • Be careful about making moves while the teacher is still teaching. Several games have many ramifications for each action. The teacher may not have had time to explain the ramifications. For example, consider action A affecting action C, and action B affecting action C. Some teachers will explain A, and its effect on C, then explain B and its effect on C, then finally explain action C. Others will explain A, then B, then C, then go back and explain the effects of A and B on C.
  • Have fun. That is the point of games after all. :)
