Vietnamese translation of Seasons?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Vietnamese CS engineer of age 25 (though I'm working mostly in designing/remaking both mobile and board games), played and can understand well Yugioh 3 versions on PC (Yugi the Destiny, Kaiba the Revenge and Joey the Passion), played and can understand Seasons (both online and offline). In case you need a number, my trial test (not official) of TOEIC scored 635 (it's a shame but I just want to prove that I can at least read/understand instructions/rules in English).

I also own a Season base game and an extension pack 2 - Path of Destiny, played them many times too :geek:

I'm in love with this game from the start, because I fell to Yugioh TCG and other resource-earning/scoring board games (like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Lord of Waterdeep, ...). This game, like many others of its kind, has a huge disadvantage of rather complex rules and the amount of text (or I should say, "knowledge" in text-form) that player has to "learn" in order to play and be attracted to the game. At my local board game offline parties, few (strictly say: just ONE!) players would enjoy it with me :|

I hereby ask if the Community and Admins can allow/help in bringing this game to our native language - Vietnamese? I myself have done and printed a Vietnamese copy of the rules book, and would like to share it so we can improve it to its best.

I know there're also many Vietnamese friends play Seasons on BGA too. If you can help with the testing and/or translating the text on card, clarify the rules, ... it's my deep appreciate. I also sincerely call for helps from players who can understand the native language of the designer and English, in case the English rules have confusions here and there...

This is my possesion and work so far http://postimg.org/gallery/33uorvvpi/

I don't speak/write/understand vietnamese :)

But the rule on this site is that having games translated into a specific languages requires that first at least 80% of the main site has been translated into that langauge. So before games are avaible in vietnamese first at least 80% of the strings that concern the main site (2152 strings of text) have to be translated into Vietnamese. I thought though that vietnamese was already available but as i have no clue which of the character written text means vietnamese i have no clue.

Hope this give you an answer you can work with.

Cheers,
Sawyer

Hi Lokibes,

BGA is currently not open for translation in Vietnamese (as there has been no request from would be translators). I understood your question as a call to Vietnamese players for some offline work on translating Seasons, so I cannot help. But if it was in fact a request to open the possibility to translate BGA in Vietnamese, I'll be happy to help: just let me know (but as Sawyer explained, the site needs to be translated before games so that people can understand how to get into the games).

I suppose that in the over 100 views, maybe there has not been many Vietnamese players (I checked and on the player map I found only 57 BGA players playing from Vietnam). So I hope that you'll get some answers from Vietnamese players willing to help, but the demographic odds are low.

Best,
Een
