Board Game Arena

I'm trying to create a trophy image for a tournament, but would like the background of my inner image to match that of the outer border that the site provides. So how do I save an image such that the site will see my background as transparent?

What graphics program are you using? Most will have an option to replace a color (your background color) with transparent, for image formats that support transparency.
