Is it typical of BGA staff to use favoritism when deciding if a player is guilty of Terms of service violation? From what I've seen players who are BGA members and are paying seem to be able to blatantly violate Terms of Service rules and regulations without being penalized when they are reported, whereas players who have the smallest infraction and aren't paying the website are penalized.

THE Problem is BGA not intentionally has caused friction with all the DISCRIMINATION .Example red or green ,ELO ,,, BEGINNER GOOD EXPERT INSTEAD OF MAKING site friendly .Like keep it simple players name along wins////losses category.IF PLAYERS DONT WANT TO PLAY AT OPEN GAME JUST QUIT TRY ANOTHER.and yes all games must be open . STOP DISCRIMINATION

Can I ask you to formulate your suggestions/requests into a list? I am having trouble figuring out what you are trying to convey. Personally, I like knowing the levels of each player. I like the competition and statistics that go along with it such info, and I do not see that as discrimination. But like I said, maybe I'm just not understanding you properly.

no problem.any time u label or category people u will dicriminate against someone why it should be removed.again name of person his or hers wins and losses is the only way not to offend someone or u even take away win/losses please keep game fun and friendly.Thanks

you are making nonsense. the rankings are there so that players can play against other players that either challenge them or don't challenge them depending on which they prefer.

the green thumbs and red thumbs are to avoid playing with nimrods, like the one i just red.thumbed for refusing to play his turns in a turn.based tourney that he willingly signed up for. for bozos like that, i think other players definitely appreciate the heads up about their potential tomfoolery.

looking at your ratings, i see 487 green thumbs and 308 red thumbs, so i can see why you are sensitive about this. but from my experience, you deserve every red thumb that you get. i've only played you once in a hearts game, where you berated other players for making a mistake to set up a situation, when it was actually your own mistake that caused that situation. so, i gave you the benefit of the doubt, but made a personal note to myself about the encounter (newly introduced at the time, otherwise i would have red.thumbed you as well), and have avoided playing any table with you ever since.

if you want to restrict your in.person gaming table to only those who play 'nice', feel free. however, this site should accommodate ALL players, including those of us who like to play competitively, but also avoid playing with nimrods. doing otherwise would indeed be discrimination.

as for the original poster's comment about favouritism, i'm more inclined to believe otherwise. if the terms of service were being consistently violated by some BGA members .. other BGA members would complain just as loudly as non.members. methinks thou dost protest too much ...

Yes, I think they do show favoritism. I reported a player who's currently in the Top 10 Hall of Fame for calling me profane names and being rude towards me because I made a game move that he didn't like. The BGA staff did not penalize him. He told them he was joking. I'm not sure how calling me a f***** multiple times and being aggressive towards me is joking. I've seen people penalized for doing way less than he did.

Needless to say that there is no favoritism with BGA members. We don't accept insults from anyone here.

If anyone of you disagree on a moderator decision, please send an email to contact(at)boardgamearena.com with the report ID. But to be honest, moderators are fair and they did a really good job.

I just reviewed your report concerning player zebkiller. He said "WTF" during a game, which is not very polite but not an insult. So the moderator didn't penalize him, which seems fair.

"WTF" wasn't the only thing he said. I wouldn't have reported him if that was all he said. I would have just given him a red thumb and not played with him again. I reported him because he called me a f*****. I was pretty clear in my report about what he specifically said to me.

How was it fair that he was allowed to berate me without facing any consequences?
