Bonsoir,

There is no problem in general with several people playing from the same IP address. Two people playing from the same house, or several people playing from the same office can lead to this situation.
The warning is given because some people use multiple accounts to cheat. By knowing the hidden information of two or more players, they gain an advantage. It is easiest to do this with computers that are next to each other, and would therefore most likely share the same IP.
It does not mean that cheating is happening. It meant that it is one of the ways that cheating happens, so be careful.

OK c'est bien, mais quand on veut quand même jouer on ne peut pas malgré l'avertissement.

I think Jest misunderstood. It sounds to me like you are the one at the same IP as someone else (your father). The issue there is that one of your has to be a paying member in order to play from the same location like that. Once one of you plays from that location, and a different member then tries to play from the same location, it will tell you you're not allowed.
(He was referring to when you look at an invitation, you get a warning that two or more of the players are at the same IP, just for your own knowledge, so you can decide whether you see a problem with that. That's a different thing.)

Actually, I was referring to what the situation was in early 2016, not the change the BGA staff made in, what, mid to late 2017?

(I'm probably way off on the date of the change -- time tends to behave differently for me than it does for other people.)
If you re-read the original post, they mentioned that someone else said they saw the warning message that the original poster was playing from the same IP as them. If it was the situation where a paying member was needed for the same IP people to play, the poster would have seen the message themselves and it would not have been a warning, it would have blocked them from playing (as it is now for ArkDevon).
