hours need a time zone designated

my understanding is that when a game has playing hours listed, its based on the time zone that the site thinks you are in

the problem with this is that US has a minimum of three time zones!! so an east coast 8pm isnt a california 8pm

That's no problem, times are shown in your device's time zone.

The time zone is not determined by country, it's by the time zone used by your device's system clock. The playing hours are translated to that time zone so you don't have to do the conversion. So unless you have monkeyed with your system clock to set it to a different time zone, it is using your time zone.
