Re: Anyone willing to teach me the finesse convention?

Good point, qwertasdfg. Anecdotally, I do find there's a lot more ELO cheating collusion in 2p, and a category of player that gravitates from 3p-5p to 2p and has an infinitely skyrocketing ELO. I would love them to add a no abandon table option and/or an abandon rate filter to tables.

Re: Anyone willing to teach me the finesse convention?

One challenge you're going to have is that you've played a lot of 2p, and presumably with a high abandon rate, so your ELO is >1,300 people are going to expect you to understand how 3p+ works deeply, even beyond basic finesse. I agree the guide posted is great reading on the subject, but you may wan...

Re: Win Streak

Nice work and interesting tricks. Are these common or unique to you guys :) These are unique to us. However, there were 20-30 players in a group I named "Wildcards" that competed in weekly contests for about 6 months in 2020. Each week I made up rules, and players could practice during th...

Re: Why I Choose Not to Abandon: An Explanation

Fortunately most people who are ELO addicts will eventually start playing two player Hanabi (which I will never understand the draw of) and their ELO will just keep going up, up, up while meaning absolutely nothing (unlike, say, a Chess ELO). There's a "no abandons" group on hanabi here wi...

Re: How to improve my level

The most effective way to level up beyond 500 is to abandon every game that is a loss and infinitely gain ELO, forever. :D

(I'm kidding -- this is a bad practice, but lots of people do it, which is why ELO beyond ~600 is pretty unreliable measure of "skill")

The sad meeple emoji looks angry.

When I see the bright red meeple emoji created in chat from ":(" I think it looks angry. Anyone else agree? :-)

Re: Put 'Perfect or quit' in table notes

I do wish that when the deck runs out you could play two cards each rather than just one. It's amazing how often the second copy of the 4 you discarded in the first few turns of the game turns out to be the bottom card of the deck. At which point you finish with 34 points having worked extremely ha...

Re: Display abandon rates in Hanabi

So happy to see I'm not the only one annoyed at abandons in Hanabi. I love the game and I love difficult decks. Sometimes you just get a raw deal, and sometimes the people you are playing with lack the experience to navigate it -- so what! That's part of the fun!

Re: Anyone else having trouble with MC clued as Yellow?

I don't know if you're describing an optical illusion or a bug, but I have seen a bug on my iPad (only) where in MC the multi clues will briefly become all the same clue, sometimes three different multis will look like yellow clues for example. If I click one of the cards, they all 'correct' to the ...
