Re: No way to report cheating through mods?

You can get some insight into the problem from what has happened in bridge. Bridge is a card game similar to tichu in that it involves partnerships, hidden information, and that a partnership can gain a huge illegal advantage by sharing their hands with each other, made worse by the fact that there ...

Re: Multiple Army Dudes

It's not like this is the only way large swings of luck can occur in this game. Trying to mitigate all of them would lead to a mess, I think you just have to accept that the game involves a good quantity of luck. Playing two out of 3 would help, it's just a matter of if the averaging out the luck ov...

Re: Hate Prestige

I had a similar reaction when Brink of War came out. I stopped playing the game for years. When I got on BGA, I tried it again and came to like it with prestige. You might try it again sometime, and you can certainly have scores as lopsided as the one you reported, or worse, without prestige.

Re: ok I give up, what's the deal with forfeiting

Full details - In my current game, the score is currently 1-0 in my opponents favour. It's a 3 point game Doubling cube is with them, so the game is worth 2 points. I'm well ahead. I'm 5 turns away from the win, and they still have 2 stones in my home area. They continually offer to forfeit, becaus...

Re: is "Conceding" different from "quitting"?

Some people think conceding is unsportsmanlike, others think running up the score on your opponent is unsportsmanlike. It has even started fights in baseball. Personally, I prefer a concession (mine or the opponents) if the game has become lopsided, but I can see how quitting very close to the end c...

Re: Latest update

To concede, click on the white flag off the bottom right side of the board, that will pull up a window allowing you to concede. It is different, which confuses people new to the version, but the functionality is there. I'm not sure why the 'normal' method of conceding doesn't work.

Re: Latest update

This version is an improvement, though I have been playing with it for awhile as backgammonmatchplay. The old version of 'two clicks to move one checker' was agonizingly slow. There was also some kind of dead time after moving a checker, so if you clicked on the second checker too quickly, you got a...

Re: Keep or remove this TTA version?

I much prefer the old version, though I will play the new version. I see the new version as a training wheels version, toning down the military. It is good for new players to learn on, as the old version can be very harsh, but the old version is more exciting. Please keep the old version.
