For some reason it turns off when you play your first development card. You can press f5 and then automatic dice rolling will be back.

anyway, i request that the system offer a turn to turn switch , not only and immediatly expelling many Players even dont know they can switch to turn by turn when a player is late or disconnected It offers this switch every time someone tries to expell an opponent. So yes, the players are well aware.
