Re: Players who lose winning by timing rules?

If you run out of time, you get "kicked" by the other players. The kicked player is now "absent". In HEAT, they have a special rule that allows the remaining players to finish the game. The kicked player's pieces are removed, and the remaining players finish the game. In most ot...

Re: Players who lose winning by timing rules?

The way in-person Poker tournaments work is that, if a player is absent (or disqualified), they post blinds like they normally would but are forced to fold at every opportunity. They aren't even dealt a hand. That logic would work for Poker. There are some games where an absent player completely ru...

Re: Players who lose winning by timing rules?

For example: this table is due to time out in 8 days and one player (at time of writing) has lost their chips. At current speed of play, it is unlikely, but not impossible to finish.

The other players stay in but the game times out, eventually, and I have the most time left. Do I win the game per tournament timing rules or lose because I've lost? If no ...

Re: TEXAS HOLD’EM: Deal Me In!

Isn't it interesting that every other game on BGA has no "real consequences" and yet we all love to play them anyway? Even the ones that have bidding, betting and bluffing! I was thinking the exact same thing. What does money or real life consequences have to do with playing games. With P...

Can anyone end a game that is hung on a kicked player?

I'm in a tournament that won't end because a player was kicked after timing out of a game and the game is waiting for them still. Presumably if the other players quit out, they would win and the tournament could continue. That won't happen so our tournament is hung indefinitely. This seems like bad ...
