I don't think this is a bug. You need to have space for the newborns if you are to "get" two new animals.

When you renovate to clay or stone, you will then have the option on your turn to pay the price (1 grain and 2 food) in order to get the effect of the card.

I kind of gather that the minor improvement action comes after the family growth action on the wish for children action space, and so overachiever triggers before you get to play a minor

Is it just me or is the wording confusing on this card for the conversion to points at scoring ? It's written 1/2/3 grain + veggie to 2/4/6 points, I thought it was 1/2/3 grain + 1 veggie to 2/4/6 points, but it is programmed as 1/2/3 grain +1/2/3 veggie for 2/4/6 points.
