Re: Arena settings

I think the reason why single tile is more commonly played is just that it is how the game was originally intended to be played, and it’s a good game. All official tournaments are played with the official rules of the game so there isn’t a strong incentive for people to practice playing some other v...

Re: Arena settings

If you’re going 15 tiles without finding something useful then you’re not making maximum use of your tiles. For most lower rated players this is because they don’t play aggressively enough to try to block the opponent’s meeples (e.g. road tiles are often more useful for blocking than for scoring). A...

Re: Arena Player Count

To be good at Carcassonne you need to know what tiles exist and how many have already been played. But you also need to know how to change your strategy based on this knowledge, and that requires a huge amount of skill. This is true at all player counts but adding more players increases the variance...

Re: Best time of the day to play Hive in Arena mode?

Most players are in Europe or America so I'm guessing evening on those continents in the best time. But if you want to play games against competitive players then the best thing to do is join the Hive community discord and ask for opponents there, or play in some of our tournaments. I think most of ...

Re: Lose of a match because of a pillbug bug

“The special ability allows the pillbug to move an adjacent piece two spaces; up onto itself and then down into another empty space adjacent to itself”. Maybe there is a better way to describe it but the rules specifically point out that the piece is lifted up and over the pillbug. So gates are only...

Re: Lose of a match because of a pillbug bug

BGA does have quite a few bugs though and other poorly designed features. The hive community is trying to address that and there will be a new site dedicated to hive launching pretty soon. Join the hive discord to find out more info (and meet other players generally).

Re: Lose of a match because of a pillbug bug

This is a legal move. The pillbug lifts a bug on top of itself and then drops it down into another adjacent space. So only gates on upper levels of the hive (if there are beetles on top of the hive) affect the pillbug’s ability to warp bugs.

Re: The player refuses to make his move

I believe this player has been reported for bad sportsmanship before. Unfortunately BGA does not care about fair play or improving the user experience.
