Re: Tie Break in Tournaments

I've running a tournament with similar criteria, and I've found that in the case of all the ties for 2nd, the account selected was older, which also seems the case in your tournament too.

I agree head to head would be better ,and then maybe time left on clock, followed by lowest elo.

Re: There are ZERO reasons tournament games have "Skip" other than some people abuse it for personal advantages

What if players don't want to play a game with slow players going out of time? They can skip the player and no longer have to deal with that game anymore. How does it help to advance to the next round of the tournament? You have to wait for the other games to finish anyway. And the far bigger probl...

Re: There are ZERO reasons tournament games have "Skip" other than some people abuse it for personal advantages

Thank you for letting me know which of my points are valid.. I would point out though, that all of your counter arguments fringe on the game maximum time limit, which only limits the extent of the problems I've pointed out, rather than negating them. If you disregard the player clock, , one player ...

Re: There are ZERO reasons tournament games have "Skip" other than some people abuse it for personal advantages

While I agree that the situation you describe is poor and unfair, I cannot agree with the title that there are zero reasons to skip in a tournament. I've played in some tournaments where the whole round of games need to finish to allow progression, and a single repeat offender falls way behind and ...

Re: Additional penalty for conceding?

When is it too early? Will it be the same for every game? Given leaving (only option <50%) a game incurs a penalty while conceding doesn't, do you propose a softer penalty, a 'yellow card' if you like? how will you communicate that in a way that most players will understand? What about the opposite ...

Re: RR Tourney, all games started simultaneously

Thank you for a quick reply. To clarify what I'm referring to, I have 3 boxes in the bottom right of my screen inviting me to specific games , each with a player in my group, with the options of "Join" and "Snooze". I guess another way to put this is, what happens if I snooze and...

Re: Tournaments FAQ

How will it work the knockout to leave 2 players for the final? I assume it'll start with a round of 32, with the winners playing the remaining 16 players who skipped a round (after which point it can just halve until reaching the final 2) ? Yes, I'm pretty sure it will work like that. If so, how a...

RR Tourney, all games started simultaneously

Hey, Hoping somebody here might be able to help. I've setup a new tournament, my first time making one on BGA, and I've clearly misinterpreted a setting. I configured games to start as soon as possible, with a group stage (Round robin) format, 6 per group. My thinking here was that it would mean tha...

Re: Tournaments FAQ

Hi, Apologies if this has already been asked - I used the search, but it's tricky to think how somebody else would express the same question. So If I setup a Tournament with 16 groups , 7/8 to a group, and the top 3 getting through to the knockout phase, this will leave 48 players for the knockout p...
