Bunnyluv had 6 in a row, which counts for 8 and 3, although the rule is not explicit. You had 5 and 1, which counts for 8.

I would like to suggest 5 fantastic games that would be much easier to implement than most, and super easy for anyone to learn, 3 of which I played at Essen 2023: Passo - BGG says it's the best game from Essen Spiel.
