My family play a version of Spades where you don't recieve any points if you do not make your bid. That really encourages people to make their bid.

My family has been playing this game for about 100 years..... grandparents taught it to us, and I'm the grandpa now....It requires 4 players, 2 teams of 2, dealt 6 cards initiall...
