Re: Dragonflies scoring

first you need to understand dragonfly scoring dragonflies score as sets of different species. you have 3 dragonflies of species a, b and c - this is a set worth 10 points. you put another 3 dragonflies down, also of species a, b and c - this is your second set worth 10 points. so 10 + 10 = 20 point...

Re: Final scoring. I need explanation

you can see how many points any card scores when hovering the mouse over it after it is played and: you oppenent gets 30 points for the blanket bog + 2 (Lowland Heath) + 8 (Crab apple), so a total of 40 seems correct. you forget to count the points in you coastal heath, which should be 20. +10 (Vall...

Re: Suggestion for custom option - winter

also that would make the game much more boring - who would want that? not knowing when exactly the game ends creates the suspense everybody loves and why the game has that many fans

Re: Draft Mode

this is completely correct. The effect of the arrow symbols that you described as well as the fact that this is not explicitly explained. I was confused in the beginning, too

Re: Exmoor pony is ridiculously overpowered

In the beginning I also thougt these are ridicoulously overpowered, but after a couple dozen of games this doesn't seem to be the case actually. I won some games with ponies, but more often than not I do not follow the pony path during a game for a variety of reasons: - the good exmoor ponies are ra...

Re: draw a card when three or fewer cards in hand cave is OP

agree. the caves are very badly balanced. if there are two caves with similar power, it might be okay (e.g. put 2 cards into cave whenever the clearing is flushed AND draw 3 cards extra and put 3 into clearing - I consider these equivalently powerful and also hard to predict how much they will help...

Re: Homebrew ideas to balance the game

Another approach to balancing would be not to strengthen a seemingly weak subset of cards, but instead to weaken the overpowered ones. For example, butterflies become too strong when both expansions are in play. Reducing the gentian factor from 3 to 1 could help tone down their power. Alternatively,...

Re: Homebrew ideas to balance the game

Having all expensions gives us total numbers of: 6x3 bats (18) x 5 3 gnats = 18 x 9 = 162 3 crane fly = 18 x 9 = 162 bat cave = 18 x 3 = 54 If you draw and use all 18 bat, 3 gnat, 3 crane fly cards and the cave, you get 378 points. (not accounting for cards that have both) Realistically, you are lo...

Re: Homebrew ideas to balance the game

I have played bats occasionally just because it's fun, and my starting hand warranted trying it. My problem with them is how quickly they fill trees when you get enough to put down - how about bats of the exact same type stacking? I think that would even be thematic. very nice idea! Unfortunately, ...
