Re: Early version of an AI you can practice TFM against

The games are all in Friendly mode and so no one gains or loses Elo - seems fine to me for people wanting to play a game against what is in essence a chess computer equivalent for TfM. I cannot speak for BGA, but it seems no one gets an unfair advantage in any way from playing this bot, and it simpl...

Re: Highest solo game

Tolik – I think you’ve moved into a different dimension – pretty incredible to see such monster scores. I’ve carried on with base game only, and after remaining “stuck” in the 170s range for high scores, I’ve had a few higher scores than that on Amazonis. 224 VP – Credicor - https://boardgamearena.c...

Re: Highest solo game

On Amazonis, I've gone for a peak of 173 VP. Base game only, 16 generations: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=879229651 The full stats for my experiment with Amazonis Planitia solo, base game only: 8 games 1 fail (Thorgate, abandoned) and as scores for the other 7 games: 152 - Saturn Systems 1...

Re: Highest solo game

I've never played Solo on that map but it seems fun. Maybe I'll give it a try. So, no expansions on that map you get 16 generations? Yes. I didn't know upfront, and when generation 15 started, I hadn't seen a "last generation" warning, but did a quick internet search giving as result, inc...

Re: Highest solo game

I hear what you're saying but I would be careful about presenting data that could be misconstrued. Posting your average score per corporation after subtracting out the losses gives misleading data. For Example, UNMI is terrible in solo mode if not playing TR63, and has a low win rate. Posting the a...

Re: Highest solo game

I blame a lazy reliance on AI :-) I fed the Statistics tables from the BGA Results page for those games into ChatGPT and fired some queries. I also noticed that the summary tables it produced didn't reconcile, so simply instructed it to use only games for which I provided all details (I had forgotte...

Re: Highest solo game

I think I've done enough solo play over the past week. Here statistics on 16 games, all base game, that I played. I suppose that Vastitas simply offers better adjacencies and pickups for the games I played. I did abandon a few efforts, so won't claim a 100% success rate. Base game probably also infl...

Re: Highest solo game

Reviving an old thread here. Earlier this week I ended up chatting with another tournament player and gave as a suggestion for getting familiar with maps that playing a few solo games is a fun, fast approach. And having said that, I had a crack at the solo game myself. The ones that worked out best:...

Re: Coaching?

Happy to play a friendly/unrated game too - just set up the game and I'll describe what I'm trying to do and my understanding of some key game dynamics. As a general tip: trying the game in solo mode can help massively too. When I started playing the game many moons ago, I played it in solo mode reg...
