Re: How can I quit a game if a player hasn’t been online for a month, without losing reputation?

I don't know why every time this topic comes up, everyone starts hiding their head in the sand and feigns not understanding that the inconvenience of waiting for someone (which on this site just means having a table open) is not in the same ballpark of harm as seeing a game terminated without being...

Re: AI in gameplay

Chess is a single game that already has programs made that can solve it. BGA has thousands of games that would need to each be solved individually in order to have such a feature. Yes that's true, but it's theoretically not impossible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the games here maintained b...

OP hasn't posted since page 1. Since then you've been arguing with someone known for either being a troll, or at best not actually listening to the people they disagree with.

I'm just going to leave this here: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/ucp.ph ... &mode=foes

Re: A waste of time: Unfair Karma penalties...

Many games would end by the weekend if folks played during the week. WTF are you joining my MOnday 0800 4 move a day created game for if you cant play? Maybe that's when they're touching grass. I've figured it out: the right amount to care about a game is how much BlackLanthum cares at that exact m...

Re: A waste of time: Unfair Karma penalties...

BGA has an option to "Propose to abandon the game collectively", but I've been ignored or rejected every single time I've tried. So, in my experience, that tool is basically useless. Are you just clicking abandon, or are you explaining why in the chat? Because I have agreed to a collectiv...

Re: General concenus regarding notes in deck-based games

But in the end, it isn't really the "could I/should I/should it be allowed" Part of this question what I'm trying to focus on; really, the thing that worries me is whether note-taking, be it using the in-game features or external resources, would be seen as "offensive", so to sp...

Re: Luck factor

I just lost a game when I had 200 elo against a beginner A "beginner" on BGA does not mean they have not played the game before, nor that they are not skilled at the game. It just means they have not played it very much on BGA yet. You shouldn't treat ELO as "this rating means you sh...

Re: Leaving a game because you are losing ***...OH HELL.

Just had this happen twice with the same player...can't report him because it's not an offense...I think no one should play with him and the moderators should look at these two games and give him a ban. You can read thumb a user for "personal reasons" to avoid being matched with them. You...

Re: AI and BGA

And Warcraft let you play against the computer's AI in the 90s.

A proper automated opponent needs to be coded by a person, not AI slop, and that has always been a possibility before LLMs but isn't something BGA implemented.
