This may be true for some very simple games. However, in the most of the games this is not even remotely true.

Well, that's exactly what the majority of people here (including me) have proposed. Keep the Elo as it is, and don't use it for rankings (and prestige points).

Exactly. The funny thing is they're doing it because they want people to play more. They don't realise that Elo decrease is a huge motivation killer.
