Do not show invitation until 'Open table to other players' button has been pressed

When I invite friends to games but have not finished choosing the settings, they can still join the table even before I've pressed 'Open table to other players' and then once someone has joined I am unable to change any more settings. Is it possible to not allow players to enter until I press 'Open ...
