Do not show invitation until 'Open table to other players' button has been pressed

When I invite friends to games but have not finished choosing the settings, they can still join the table even before I've pressed 'Open table to other players' and then once someone has joined I am unable to change any more settings.

Is it possible to not allow players to enter until I press 'Open table' or have it so that friends don't see the invitation until I open the table?

The quickest fix would be for you to first change all the settings and afterwards invite your friends :P
