Re: please, do the scramble eggs variant

I agree, that would be an interesting one, as well as the 9x9 black hole variat

Re: blooms on large boards

I found an implementation on abstractplay which allows size 10 hex boards and it's soooo much better. Feels like we're stuck playing 9x9 go at the moment. Would love a size-10 version on BGA 🙏 (and would love to see it become the arena default!) I definitely agree! I started playing on Abstract Pla...

Opening strategy in Blooms

I've played several games of Blooms, managed to rank in the top five and enjoy this game a lot, but I still find the strategy behind the opening moves quite puzzling. In Go one should focus on controlling the sides early on. However, in Blooms, particularly on boards up to size 6, this strategy does...

Re: blooms on large boards

That looks nice!
I agree, maybe a hexagonal 7-sided or 8-sided board would be interesting.
Also why not? Different shaped boards?

Re: Is it possible to draw a game in Alveole?

I believe the position in the ASCII strings below should be draw! Unfortunately BGA did not let me upload a picture. For convention the board is rotated by 30°, RED stones are R1,R2,R3 and blue's B1,B2,B3. After some analysis, I've arrived at the following conclusion: assuming it's RED's turn to pla...

What's the longest game of Alveole you've ever played?

Just a curiosity:
how many moves (both your's and your opponent's) has lasted your longest game?
And was it that long because someone wasted moves and the game could have ended faster?

Re: Is it possible to draw a game in Alveole?

@Romain 672.. I don't think they are theoretical draws as that chess position.. in the second case whoever moves can capture the opponent's piece in the center of the board and then win.. While in the first one I think that anyone who would attack first would be able to take the lead on the game.. S...

Is it possible to draw a game in Alveole?

Here is an interesting theoretical question: Knowing that if a player can't move or forces their opponent down to a single piece loses, I was thinking that a draw could still be possible. The idea is that there may be some positions where both players are close to winning. Supposing that at each tur...
