I have the same issue, drives me up the wall! My friend also has a Premium account, his always stays in Normal. I've looked everywhere for a default. I've changed all the games to NEVER in their automatic settings. Nothing I do seems to fix it. So many things I wish they would tweak and add settings...

I'd dearly like this too!
No end of frustration of starting it, realising you forgot to switch it over. Having to cancel, reinvite everyone, make sure they don't all click before you change it and then go.

Suggestion on improving Advanced Preferences

Would love to see the Reputation Filtering and Game Speed settings given a global option in Player Preferences, rather than having to select it manually for every game.
