I've played a lot of games of Heat on BGA and have never had slipstream add to my corner speed. Not sure what happened in your game, but have to assume something else is going on. Maybe you are confusing "boost" or "adrenaline" with "slipstream"?

That makes sense. A search is always rolled per the rules, but if there are no dice to be rolled (no nazgul and no troops), the roll step in BGA is skipped.

It's very coincidental that you just posted this, because I was just wondering the same thing. There are times when it won't require me to use a stealth token and I wasn't sure why, but I think your explanation is probably what's causing it.
