Mü in alpha

Post by dudi2 »

Hi reviewers,

, an award winning game from Doris & Frank, is now available for alpha testing:

https://boardgamearena.com/reviewer?game=mue

Mü is regarded by many as one of the best offerings in the trick-taking genre, best played with 5 players.

If you do not know the game so far, we strongly recommend to read the rules before playing.

Some basic strategy tips:
- Newbies should be defensive in bidding to find out how high they can go to successfully play their hand. Bids of 1-3 cards can usually be won, bids of 4-6 cards are more difficult to win, higher bids are in most cases not easy to win. To pass at the right moment is important.
- If one does not want to be the chief or the vice it is useful to show some interesting cards with the goal to be selected by the chief as partner, as chief and partner get nice bonus points if they achieved their team target. One example for this is to show a small enough card of the color where you have a 9 while being careful to not being vice after placement of that card.
- Chief's team normally leads their first tricks with a trump card to reduce the number of trumps in the opposite team.

Have fun!

New version deployed.

Important changes since initial alpha version:

- Show current number of hand cards in player table
- Overlay a flash on Chief icon when this player currently is an Eclateer
- Show current team target on Infotable
- Implemented an user preference option to indicate teams using colors or a border:

Indicate teams ...
- only by symbols CVP
- with background at Chief's team red - other team green
- with background at my team green - other team red (default option)
- with a border around my team's bid areas

For turn-based we introduce a new idea to try to get all player to the table at the same time (when auction phase ended) to play their cards down in 5-10 minutes before going back to turn-based to determine chief and vice for the next hand.

Enjoy!

I would love to be an alpha mu player as well. I’m familiar with the rules of the game already, but am not an expert player.
