Using Jokers 1/game

Post by WhiteWitch »

Hello all together.

I am not sure, if you have the same experience as I get now… Anyway I was thinking to post it here - probably you can give me some hints, at least. Or you have the same issue as me.
I played a tournament game. And during that my opponent joined really only few times. It was really difficult to make any move. Furthermore he used Joker - this is OK. But he used it 3 times in one game!!
Which made our game really slow and long. And the next point is - the others players are waiting for us…

What do you think about this: what if there would be some limit for using the Joker? E.g. 1 Jok./ per game..??
Enjoy your game. White Witch. ;)

Yes exactly, it is that one I am writing about.

And at the end he won- because he had more time…
But in fact: he didn’t had more time. He used more thinking time, than me. And at the end he was connected, but didn’t want to make just one more move, so that I can also make the final one and be the winner.
He had chosen “waiting strategy”…..
How is that possible?

The player didn't use jokers, it not possible in tournament.

This turnament has playing hours between 17:00 -> 5:00 (french time), outside this time the time up didn't go down (for both player)

When turnament have got specified playing hour, check it's adapted to yours.

I have last additional question - what does it mean, when there is “black clock” waving from side to side and the thinking time is stopped?
Because this is exactly what happened within that game: when the oponent should make his move, the thinking Time was stoped and there was that “waving black clock”.
And I connected more times, and his thinking time was the same (stopped) - it didn’t change for a long Time (many hours). And this occured 3 times during one game. That is why at the end he had more time, than me. Because he stopped his countdown.

So probably it was not joker - but can you write mě what happened, please?
Or how can I also stop my thinking countdown during the game?
Thank you for your explanation. W.W.

The tournament have playing hours, during playing hours thinking time go down normaly. Outside the thinking time is stopped (black clock with a moon on side).

playing hours are the same for all player and are defined by the tournament creator. when you register on a tournament, you can check is the playing hours of the tournament are compatible with yours.
