7 Wonders Duel: anybody up for maintaining and improving?

Post by JumpMaybe »

Hi all,

I'm the developer of 7 Wonders Duel (+ expansions), which is finished and stable, but due to lack of time and other commitments I have stopped developing for BGA. Also since last month I stopped reading bug reports (mostly containing rule misunderstandings or assumed connection problems with BGA).
Although the implementation is generally well regarded there are certainly areas to improve (mobile, Safari, "live" victory points etc).

So if you are a - preferably BGA-experienced - developer familiar with playing the 7 Wonders Duel implementation and already itching to improve it, maybe this is a good time to pass the torch (and Git repository / project files).

This is a question initiated by myself, not the BGA staff. I just think it's better to do this now, instead of in a few years when I have long forgotten about the project and can't answer questions or deliver any project files. Of course this will only be done if the BGA admins agree to it.

Let me know if you are interested.

Nothing, the game is finished and stable.
But that's just what I could and wanted to do with it.

There are still plenty of feature requests:

And also I did not have an iOS device to test on, and most bug reports are about iOS device problems (touch / tooltips).

That's been my experience with popular games as well. People are quick to submit a bug without reading the rulebook.

Best of luck to you in whatever you move on to. Developing on BGA is lots of fun, but very time consuming. I know it feels the opposite when you read users' feedback, but your contributions have been so extremely appreciated. 7W:D is an excellent game.

I made the source code public, so anybody interested can improve the game implementation.
