Publisher fonts

Post by Woodruff »

Hi everybody,

I have begun the development of a new game with the approval and the support of its author who is also the publisher.
This game is card based and the commercial version includes 8 font families in total, which are not among the widest used in the web. The detail list is available below.

Since the BGA guidelines focus on the fidelity towards the physical version of the game, I am wondering about the best way to ensure these font are available and displayed in the adaptation.
  1. Is it possible to provide these fonts "on the fly", during the game, without the player having to worry about downloading them manually?
  2. What admin actions need to be done by the BGA staff?
  3. Are there potential licence problematics (reguarding the fonts used) to worry about?
I know that some of the subject is covered by another topic (reguarding Adobe fonts), so I link it there: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... nts#p99799

Thanks for your insights :)

Font family list:
  • Din condensed bold
  • KG Primaric
  • Graced script
  • Adobe source sans
  • Raleway
  • sign painter + Lobster
  • charter + adobe garamond
  • Raleway + adobe garamond

All of your Adobe fonts will require licensing. You can often find free or inexpensive alternatives to Adobe fonts that are nearly indistinguishable.
