Impossible to update payment information. Lose OLD PREMIUM

After previous communications about the new premium prices, i thought everything was ok because i had a subscription until dec.


My credit card expired and there is not way to update payment options. In resume BGA is saying that I will lose my previous subscription price because i need to make a new subscription to add a new credit card.

For me this does not make any sense. I though the maintenance of the previous price was a thank-you gesture from BGA. But they forgot how electronic payments work.

Heads up, if your card will expire in the next times, you will lose your previous price in BGA premium subscription.

I think they said somewhere on expired cards, the bank would automatically handle+redirect to new one? Or was that wrong?

However, as I don't use a credit card and always paid by paypal, I'm doomed to eventually pay the new price anyway even though I've been ongoing premium for years. However, 30 bucks is still ok for me as long as they don't increase again too soon.

Does not make too much sense to not have a way to update the payment method. Probably is a way of removing previous subscription prices users. I'ts pretty common to change bank accounts.

Its not a problem to pay 30 bucks. I don't remember to see in the new premium notice about this impossibility to change payment options. It's more an expectations issue xD

I also think it would be a better message to the users if the kept price depended on ongoing premium-status of the user rather than on an ongoing credit-card-connection.

But I suspect the reason in accounting / support / organisatorial issues rather than deliberate punishing long-term-subscribers for changing their bank-account. "Punishing" is probably even the wrong word here. What they are doing is rewarding long-term-subscribers FOR KEEPING their bank account. Maybe because it's easier to handle for them if bank-accounts don't change. I don't know.

I still think it would be a better message to reward the "long-term"-aspect rather than the "keeping-bank-account"-aspect... but whatever, I don't know what the real reasons are anyway...

It is a bit disappointing that after all this communication about old premium users they are using this kind of trick to forced them to move to the new pricing. It is a nonsense as 30e is not that expensive for the access but I do think it has been done deliberately as the support gave me incomplete answers about this issue.
A lack of transparency but the platform really rocks so….let’s go on

I have the same problem.
Premium ran out yesterday and my credit card expired a while ago. I wanted to update the payment method to PayPal but it doesn't work. Guess they don't want me to be a Premium member anymore.

I just encountered the same problem.
I had to cancel and enter new CC information, thus, losing the old membership.
I had to update cos I got a new CC number (old one was compromised)

Did any of you recover the old membership pricing?

Yep, just encountered this issue as well, and it seems to be definitely done in bad faith, so I'm canceling my subscription and not renewing. Very disappointing, but life's too short to support practices that go against my values.
