automatic and option, a sad issue

With the automatic, most of the people doesn't question the game.

People are not aware of the option to say “I don't want to play with extension" or” I want at least 3 players" ,
so as repercussion


- when the game will begin, people cancel, or even after the game has begun they ask the abandon "because I didn't see it was the extension" . And it's happen A LOT, really I mean A LOT. it's really annoying, it would be so easy for them to just change the option, but people aren't aware that we can change it. I would love an announcement to remember the player to think what they play.
(if fact the 2 other points are for me sad but not annoying as this one which is the reason of my post)

-game which are better for more people, always begin before there is enough player. Because if there is four players in one minute, there would be two tables of two, even if it would be better at one table of four.

- last point i see, a sad but nothing to do reaction, is that a lot of game haven't any more player because they need more than 2 players.

I'm not against the automatic game, I use it really often, it would be just a little better if people know how to use it.

And you do you think of some issue of the automatic? Or some better stuff about it.

Automatic settings are not known as well as they should, and it's a shame. More than a communication (that would be temporary fix, and newcomers won't see it), the site should find a way to force player to know them. For example, if a player cancels, ask him "why did you cancel ?", and if it answers because of settings/expansion, open the settings popup and explain how to use it.
For some games, I player arena and not simple game for this, because players can't cancel the game.

This is not specific to BGA. It is a fact of life that many, many, many people never change the default settings in anything. Their computer. Their browser. Their phone. Their gaming console. Their DVR/PVR. It is the path of least friction.

Then there are weirdos like me who whenever they see a gear symbol they click on it and explore every single sub-menu to see what is possible to adjust. There are just different styles for interacting with technology.

That's a good suggestion.

In October they posted tips about using the site, like which browsers work best, how to change default alert sounds, etc., but other features like preferences in automatic games were not covered. Maybe that can be added?
