hard to tell when it is my turn on turn based game with the new interface

Yea, I don't see any benefit to new UX, and the removal of notification its your turn is really bad. The little icon isn't nearly as useful, and sometimes it disappears (which granted, is probably a bug), but never had problems before.

I really like the new interface. You can pick the game for which you want to take your next turn. The drop-down is well laid out, it makes it easy to see which game you are up on next. The only thing I would add is the banner from the old interface made it super-obvious that you had games waiting for you. I would very much appreciate if that banner could be re-added, and I have a suggestion; just have it open the new drop-down. Have it say "5 games are waiting for you" or whatever it used to say, and then when you click on it, it opens the drop-down under your avatar. I keep thinking it isn't my turn when in fact it is.
