Wood fields and Joinery

Post by Malingo1 »

The Joinery dosn't count the wood on wood fields in the scoring, is that a bug?

I think they should count just like grain and vegies on the fields in scoring.

the wood has been used as fences. It doesn't count for the joinery. All of the major improvements are the same, it's resources you have in stock / store.

Citation from the (unofficial) Agricola compendium, compiled by Lumin et al.:

Clarification @Joinery: Wood remaining on the Wood Field D075 is not in your supply and cannot be spent for points.

Clarification @Wood Field: Planted wood may not be spent during scoring for the Joinery-

Since the comments and clarifications in this compendium are usually in accordance with the game author, one can say that the BGA implementation is correct and there is no bug. In this case, a citation to "Ponton on BGG" is given.

I have to agree with Malingo1, however, that one might well expect the wood, that is sown on a field, be treated equally to a grain or a veg, that is sown on a field. This is not the case, though.

No inconsistency there. Grain and veggie are NOT consumed for scoring them, that's just specifically how they score, whereas joinery requires you to consume the goods, and thus have them in your supply.

Of course you are right, Tisaac. With the new edition you have to pay the wood in order to get the bonus points. Since the wood is still on the field you have no access to it...

Ponton handles the majority of Lookout Games' official Agricola rulings and works with Uwe directly.
