Playing multiple games at once

I'm currently hosting a no time limit game of carcassonne, I'm trying to play in other games but it keeps saying "you are in another game" and won't allow me to join any. Last time I used the site about a year ago, I remember being able to play multiple games at once. What's going on?

You get the warning because you are in a real-time game. IF it were a turn-based game you wouldn't get the warning.

You can change it to turn-based game if you all agree (in the menu, the three lines)

I've got another issue now. While playing our no time limit game, the game was "abandon".
GAME RESULT : END OF GAME (ABANDON)
Game abandoned
Game has been closed automatically because no move has been completed for a long period of time.

???? This happened twice today. Never had this problem before.

That‘s also just because you set it up as real time game and not as turn based, the former gets shut down after a few hours or so, the later after 30 days or so.
