A year and a half since the alpha version begins, how much longer does it take to become beta :(
CAN'T WAIT!! Definitely top 10 games in my life, even though I only played it twice (Can't find friends, hope to find on BGA)

So last I heard was that we can't get permission from the publisher to move this game along to beta. Trust me, after spending almost a year working on this myself as a fun project and then turning it over to somoene else to get this over the finish line, I want nothing more than see it published as well. Sadly I think it is just stuck. :(

That's sad, and I'm curious as to the reason. Because surely no publisher wants their game to stay in Alpha forever. So I only really see 2 reasons they would say "no" to going to Beta:

1) they have changed their mind (or circumstances have changed) and they no longer want the game to be playable on BGA

2) they do want the game on BGA but don't think the adaptation is good enough for public release yet

Of these two, 1) would suck but I expect if it does happen, the game would get removed from Alpha as well - because if the publisher doesn't want it available, why leave it here even if only accessible to a small number?

While 2) is fine, presumably they have feedback that they can give to the developer to improve the adaptation, hopefully leading to moving to Beta.

I have no idea what the situation is here (nor have I played El Grande on BGA to have an opinion on the adaptation), but it seems strange not to have been resolved one way or another.

I believe that both BGA folks and the person that had finished up the adaptation have reached out to the publisher, they are just not getting and responses back from the publisher.

So, uh, El Grande just appeared in beta.

Has something changed?
