Re: FAQ: Arena mode

Post by Ramona Rey »

The Arena mode in a turn-based game is a misunderstanding.
I have about 10 tables open now and it's my turn to move on each one, but I can't make it because I have to look for the table "You must play this game first. The arena turn-based rule: you must play at the table where your longest-awaited turn is. . " And with one move each time I have to click through all the tables refreshing to find a table that I can make my move on. LET SOMEONE MIX IT BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TAKE FUN FROM THE GAME THIS WAY.

For example, Koi-koi is now back to half a year (whole year last season) and rain ruins the party (not active last season). Would be nice to know these things in advance, but I don't see them listed anywhere. had to find out in-game.

There's a link to that game when you're in a table you're not yet allowed to play.

and I also don't believe you do.
As I know I've previously decided to try to skip one of those tables, and when another of that game came up I was automatically taken back to the one I had to take my turn on.

If you're wanting to play them realtime, choose the real time option when creating tables.

I must have got it from another forum post as I've never seen it on the main site although it should be as it's a very helpful page of info.

Hello!

Is it possible that one player gives a red thumb down for an other player to block him and so to avoid to play games with him in the Arena?

Background: one player gave me a thumb down without reason and I am wondering why we have no game in the Arena although I am having open invitations almost all the time and he is playing a lot.

Best wishes!

Yes? It is really possible to avoid a game against special players by turning down the thumb (without any reason)?

That doesn't make sense.

Arena is a tournament/championship. There is no tournament/championship where you can have a wishlist. In such a tournament/championship you can't choose that you don't want to play against e.g. the strongest player.

Moreover it is not sportsmanlike against all the other participants who do play against all. That twisted the final score.

Furthermore it is possible to make tactics with this method of turning down and maybe turning up the thumb during the championship.

Fleet game finished in arena mode but result not taken into account and the game does not appear in game history of both players. As if we had never played it.

The opponent says it is the 2nd time that it happens to him today (1st time for me).

game number : fleet # 238852748

Can you do something about it please?

There seems to be an issue with Cribbage in arena mode, this is not strictly an issue with the Cribbage game but how it interacts with Arena games.

I have this game

https://boardgamearena.com/9/cribbage?table=238266788

which it's my turn at but the interface blocks me because I need to play at another table, which is fine. But that game is over

https://boardgamearena.com/3/cribbage?table=237758592

I believe it's because the player won by2 points in the first game so it's got itself stuck which how that works in Arena.
