Arena top 50 and top 100

Hi all,

I think it would be nice to award special badges for top 50 and top 100 arena finishes.

At the moment the current achievements are awarded for reaching the various different arena ranks and at the end of the season for finishes that are top 20 or higher.

The gap between reaching elite and a top 20 finish is huge! Whilst reaching elite is pretty much achievable by anyone who puts enough time on it, finish in the top 20 in a game with thousands of players is something only very few can even think of targeting. As a result of that, I know many people stop playing in arena shortly after having reached the elite rank because the next official goal is close to impossible to achieve.

I'm sure many players would appreciate if there were more badges such as top 50/100 finish. I'm sure it would stimulate many to play more in Arena and it would make things more exciting at the lower ranks.

What do you guys think?

Sounds good for the very popular games, for less popular games some of them don't even get 50 players.

Unfortunately, part of the reason it's so hard to break into top positions is because some players are flooding the rankings with multiple accounts.

Until BGA fixes this, you can't really put much weight into rankings.
But I see no harm in BGA offering "top 100" / "top 50" flair.

That's a different problem. And a difficult one to solve. Online gaming has always suffered from multiple account cheating. But that doesn't mean we can't have some extra achievements in the arena

Everyone has his own goals. It's completely up to you what you want to care about.

There are games with more than 5000 players... top 100 in those doesnt sound like a big stretch

yes but how much are you gonna reward it?
top 20 is 3k, top 50 would be 1500XP, top 100 would be 750XP?
